Fixing errors during helper tool installation on macOS

In order to launch from boot, Screens Connect needs to install a helper tool, which requires administrative rights and that you enter your Mac user password. If you get an error such an error during the installation:

CFErrorDomainLaunchd error 2

This means that you've cancelled the installation. Restart your Mac and re-launch Screens Connect, making sure to allow the helper tool installation.

If you keep getting this error, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal to bring up a command prompt
  2. Type the following: sudo mkdir /Library/LaunchDaemons sudo mkdir /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools
  3. Close Terminal, launch Screens Connect.

CFErrorDomainLaunchd error 9

The helper tool was somehow disabled by mistake. Please follow these instructions to solve the issue.
